Cask at Churchkey. I uploaded a photo with menu to support the case for unretiring this one. Clear maroon brown color, tan bubbles. Aroma of toast and caramel. Taste has light roast, cocoa, caramel. Tasty.

Bottle at LKS Heights, thanks to LKS, 14/04/16. Pitch black topped with a dirty tan head. Nose is rich roast, dark fruit rinds, Xmas cake, chocolate, light charr. Taste comprises chocolate, roast malt, molasses, earthy hop notes, fruit loaf. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light warming alcohol. Decent old skool impy.

330ml bottle. Clear, mahogany colour with average to huge, thick, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Malty aroma with nuttily touch, toffee notes, hints of pecan, a woody touch. Taste is dry, malty, minimally roasty dark malty, nuttily, earthy, leafy, hints of toffee, coffee, pecan, tobacco, dark fruit. Rare combination: light and complex.

(Bottle0 Clear, dark golden beer with a thin, white head. Slightly sour fruit and hop aroma. Sharp, slightly sweet citrus taste,aftertaste is a bit drier and hoppier. Not bad.

Bottleshare at Mr Smith’s pad. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque dark brown beer, thin pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts, a little dark chocolate. Mild coffee. Spicy licorice. Light semi dry finish. Okay.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s place 14/04/2016. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. . Pitch black viscous pour with a lasting ING really dark tan head. Aroma is sweet roast, damp, smokey whiskey, sea salt. Palate is viscous silky, full bodied, lowish carbonation. Very smooth. Flavour is composed of rich dark choc, tart cherry fruit, berry. Black forest gateau. Very good.

Sampled from the tap at Churchkey. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of light grass and light flora with a grain backbone. Flavor is mild with a bit of sweet grass and sweet grains.

Bottle shared in W2 - picked up at some bottle shop. Pours oily black with a frothy beige head. Big burnt wood in the nose, some charred herbs, dark chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with strong ashy roast, bitter baking cocoa, aged charred wood, scorched earth, old raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly chewy. Somewhat warming on the finish, with more bitter charred wood, baking cocoa, earth, aged berries. A bit rough-edged but not bad.
