0.33 l bottle from ’Bier & Beer’, best before December 2018. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, just slightly roasty and a bit fruity aroma of dark chocolate, raisins, prunes and mocca. Rather sweet, malty, slightly roasty and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, mocca, praline, hazelnut, raisins and prunes, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Almost a bit thin for that abv, but all in all worth its merits, a true classic.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, drunk at home. Dark purplish black with a small foamy tan head. Blackberry and raw sugarcane in the aroma. Sweet, sweet taste with malts that are roasted to hell and back but never tastes burned. Smoky chocolate and plum swirls around in my mouth. Long finish with a silky mouthfeel. Tobacco and slivovitz in the aftertaste. Wow.

Another beer I tried at the 3rd Cotteridge Tasting on 20th May 2017. Cheers Mrs Scopey for this offering. The can gave up a clean and clear golden bodied liquid which produced a small white head as it settled. The aroma and taste were malty, grainy and pretty sweet from start to finish. My sweet tooth taking to it instantly. The beer was actually a lot better than I expected for a ’tramp juice’.

Can at Cotteridge Convention 2017. It pours clear yellow with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, white bread, cornbread and white sugar. The taste is smooth, white bread, cornbread, sugary, straw and a decent hit of alcohol. Finish is sweetish and chewy. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Drinks pretty smooth considering.

Can at CWC III; clear light yellow pour with a bubbly white head, aroma has big sweet malts, taste has sweet corn syrup, quite big alcohol presence that the sweetness almost handles.
