Cask at Pilgrims Progress (JDW), Bedford. Dark ruby brown, a bit of white head. Translucent. Light aroma of wet wood and acorns. Missing the rum although there is the faintest hint of raisin. Clean bittersweet taste, butnot much to it. Bitter/sour aftertaste. Weak palette. This is passable but not great.

500ml bottle from The Pheasantry Brewery beer shop. Sharpe and clear Amber colour with a white head. Aroma is fruity malts, taste has this too against a background of chestnut.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Chestnut with a thin cream head; aroma of rum & raisin flavoured fudge; sweet and satisfying with a touch of rum in the taste; and a dry finish with a trace of vanilla oak.

Cask handpump The Society Rooms, JDW, Maidstone, Kent 4th December 2014. Pours conker brown with a creamy light tan head. Nutty and with a malty bite along with a little light spice. Softish in mouth, bitter, better than expected if a little predictable. Hats off to this JDW it really was served in spankingly good condition, perhaps just a little cold being my only criticism. Oh yes it was a little nutty on nose. Not entirely sure what style this is, I started to check it out and I have seen this on two other websites described on one as Premium Bitter and the other as Speciality Grain, I will go for the former. Draft at the Great British Beer Festival 2014, Day 3 - London. Pours clear copper with a creamy, off-white head. Lots of cherry essence in this one, with a bit of brown bread, leaves and light bitter cherry skins. Light bodied with fine carbonation and OK condition. Moderate sweetness to finish with more impressions of cherry. OK.

Cask (handpump) @ The Drum (JDW), 557-559 Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, Greater London, England E10 7EQ. [ As Lancaster Raspberry Rose ].Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate hoppy, raspberry, artificial. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, raspberry, artificial, sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140418]
