Description
Lancaster Brewery is a multi-award-winning regional brewer of beautiful beers, born and brewed in the North West of England.

Our beer is available far and wide, in cask and in bottles in great pubs across the UK and as far afield as Latvia and China. Stockists also include supermarkets and off licenses regionally and nationally.

We do brewing properly. No fuss, no shortcuts, just proper old fashioned brewing using Freshly milled malt (milled on site the same day that we brew), whole-leaf hops and live yeast that, combined with our expertise, produces some of the best beer in the country.

Our purpose build brewery has been built to be sustainable with our power coming from solar panels on our roof and all our used malt going to feed local free range pigs. We take the environment and our local community seriously, hosting a series of festivals each year at our Brewery site in Lancaster for people to enjoy.

Pleasant malty aroma. Flavour is quite mild with a light, fruity malt flavour and a balanced hop finish.

Half, well kept cask at Horse & Jockey in Chorlton. Bright golden-brown body covered by a tiny, beige head, blanketing the glass. Smell of mid-sweet malts and oranges. Mixed bag of red oranges, ripe fruits and caramel malts. Rounded bitter endnotes. Satisfying partner to the mushroom pie (Greater Manchester, 06.07.2012).

Goodmans Fields ’Spoons. Light hazy on this gold beer, good white head. Light semi dry palate. The curse of Golden Ales strikes - a bit of sulphur. Mild orange citrus. Semi dry finish.

Red brown colour. Aroma has some sweet red fruit. Flavour is fruity and malty and has a light smokiness. Shame about the slightly metallic taste.

Clear 500ml bottle: best before the end of Feb 2013 and poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 10th June 2012. It’s name suggests it might be red and as the bottle was clear it showed that colour! The head was a cream coloured affair of tight bubbles. Malty and fruity in the nose and taste with a mini-hop finish. Fairly sweet feel in everything: the alcohol is nicely hidden and overall it gets a ’thumps up’ from me without waving my arms around excitedly.

ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Clear amber beer. Tired malt. Softish palate that is also dry. Pretty average and nothing special.

Lightly hopped golden ale, in both aroma and taste. Pleasant enough to drink.

Golden ale which is lightly hopped, and low alcohol content is apparent, but is crisp.

50cl bottle. Poured clear golden with a frothy white head. Aroma has citrus, flowery hops and some honey sweetness. Flavor has light grassyness, sweetness (honey) and light bitterness, floral. Average.
