Fizzy golden color with a thick frothy white head that exploded everywhere. Sweet aroma hints of apples and spice, and a little banana. Sweet apple flavor, lots of candy sugar.

Das is schon ein Knaller das Bier. 9 Euro dürfen für die 0,75 l Flasche berappt werden. An Board ein Beipackzettel in 3 Sprachen, in denen der Ideale, der Mittelmäßige, und der nicht empfehlenswerte weg beschrieben wird, das Bier vor dem trinken zu lagern. Optimal: 6-12 oder mehr Stunden in einen 4-5°C kalten Kühlschrank, danach minimum 10, aber nicht mehr als 20 Minuten in einen "Bottich" mit Wasser und Eis oder aber 20-30 Minuten in den Gefrierschrank. Zuletzt soll das Trinkgefäß im Kühlschrank vorgekühlt werden. Viel Aufwand für ein Bier. Bei 11,5% kann man sich denken wie es schmeckt: alkoholisch, wobei dieses Aroma eher im Nachgeschmack stark zum Vorschein kommt. Im Antrunk dominiert ein süßliches Aroma, der Mittelteil zeigt sich als einziges eher leicht und gut bekömmlich. Das Bier ist, wie auch auf der Homepage steht, eher als Apperitif zu sehen. Pale yellow with white head. Yeast, fruit and wheat. Coriander, clove & citrus. Fresh! Lively carbonation. great filling and a long pleasant finish. (remember too pour it into a large glass because of the carbonation and the fine head)!

light/medium brown with white head. Average carbonation, a bit of fruit and quite sweet. Very pleasant for every beer fan. Not too abstract. Remember to pour it into a high glass (if you do not have the beutiful kwak glass). Good finish!

750ml bottle. Dark amber in colour with a nice white head. Toffee flavours dominate and the sweetness is just a bit too much. Whilst I consider this a very enjoyable beer and do rate it quite well it has probably shifted more units as a consequence of it’s quirky stand and drinking vessel than it would have done if sat on the shelf next to some of it’s more impressive Belgian neighbours.

Was reddish in color with a foamy white head. Bitter sweet malt smell. Tasted like sweet fruit and malt. Very pleasant overall!

2005 bottle from Downtown Liquors, 750mL, consumed on 2/3/06. Typcial bottle conditioned poor yields large amounts of rocky, off-white head, tons of vigorous carbonation and a lightly hazed dark copper body with very faint raspberry tresses. The nose shows of strong maltiness, plenty of caramelized sugars, fat brown sugar sweetness, no hops and a dry yeast that seems very stale and blanding (old, dried out dough). Almost thought I smelled DMS, but I’m not positive. The flavor dumps malt down your throat. Sweet, fat, cloying malt sugars. Almost no complexity in my bottle. It seemingly goes from a dusty, dry yeastiness, with too much carbonation even, to thick brown sugar and caramel. Odd sharpness on the end is almost veggie-like in nature; just a dry, plant-like bitterness. Tastes carbonic as well, I suppose you might say (seltzer water) and gets watery on the very end. Some alcohol sharpness on the end, as well as some light green apples. The carbonation is way too expansive, too harsh and the texture is not as comforting as it should be for all of the sweetness. Not sure what went wrong here (or if something did go wrong), but I poured out the bottle after the first glass.
