Bottle 2005: Poured a hazy yellow amber with white head. Very carbonated as it exploded everywhere when I opened the bottle. The aroma was fruit and winey. The taste was champagne like and dry.

Re-rate from bottle. Clear golden, white cream. Nice dry fruity nose, chewy, clean fruitbasket, fine sparkly, nice funky fruit. quite nice. 7 3 7 3 13 Hazy golden, big creamy light metallic head. Fruity, light rusty aroma. Fruity (pineapple), light wooden, metallic yeast. Fairly dry light body, champagne mouthfeel. Quickly petering out.

Bottle at BJs Bakersfield; Copper with a small off-white head; Nose of apple, caramel, and spices; flavor of caramel malt, roastiness, and spices. different but good!

Bottle from a glass shapped to fit your hand like a aircraft stick: Poured an amber color with a white head. Sweet fruit aroma also citrus hints. The flavor was sweet fruit and malt with a sour bitter finish.

Bottle. Frothy white excellent mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Strange fruity aroma with hints of barnyard and mango. Nice powerfull flavor. A bit watery palate. Strange beer but still nice.

Bottled. I hereby declare this beer the beer of bad luck 2006. I took the bottle from the cooler, apparently a hell of a strong preassure when opening it, so there’s beer on the floor. Not enough with that, ready to rate the beer, my beerglass suddently decides to break. Oh well. The rest of the beer was rated with very big caution. I even thought "What would Nikki Sixx do?" before I going step by step in rating this one. So it is very champagneish, pale golden colour, lots of carbonation and huge head. Nose is very spicy, acidic fruity and sting of alcohol. Flavour is fruit, wheat, old sour apples, with some spices and other fruits in it. The finish is almost bittery hoppy. A very wellbalanced and wellmade tripel, which in fact can be separated from the masses with a nice full body and pleasant palate. Atleast there was something good about this beer...

330ml bottle bought at De Bier Tempel, Brussels in Feb.’05 (bb.March 07). Golden-orange body with some sediments floating around. Creamy white head leaving nice lacing on the glass. Smell of citrus and wheat. Ripe banana and pear sweetness in flavour. Very well hidden alcohol. Moderate to full mouthfeel. Well balanced, but gets much too sweet to my taste (11.11.2006).

Exploded out of the bottle on opening. Medium white head (after mopping up etc), slightly hazy yellow body. Sharpish aroma of perfume, grapes, spice, soap, and fruit. Very unusual and complex aroma. Taste is sharpish grain, grapes, spice, marzipan, fruit, and most other things. Again very complex. Sharpish, soft, balanced, smooth mouthfeel. Bitter background. (0.75l bottle.)

As far as I am concerned, the most interesting thing about this beer was the delightful glass in which it was served. Frankly, this is one of my least favourite of the strong Beligian beers. I drank it really slowly... has a rich palate though with a lot of flavour. Nice red color (I actually have a photo of the beer), but the taste was a bittersweet with too much alcohol in it and it does not even have that much alcohol.
