Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a large foamy head with excellent retention and some very nice lacing. Aroma is a mix between some light warming alcohol notes with sweet candy-like notes and some spicy notes also noticeable. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some sweet candy like malt notes mix with some spicy peppery yeast notes and some light warming alcohol. Easily drinkable though different then Champagne. Maybe a tad too sweet too drink too much by myself but very nice nonetheless.

2009 vintage, thanks to Fred. Very good fluffycream-brownish head over very deep dark red-brown beer. Short burst of olive aroma; then alcohol, cake, vinosu, sweet - and coriander. More coriander, and more coriander, to the exclusion of everything else. Taste presents coriander, clove, allspice, liquorice, bit of cinnamon, orange peel. Spices jumble, unbalanced. Sweet, with alcohol strengthening this sweetness. Oh, and coriander. Speculoos impression - under the coriander. Very slick, viscous, alcoholwarming, rich. But no way getting under the coriander onslaught. I’m sorry, but the infernal weed utterly ruins it for me, despite some other promising features. Warming up, it gets outright unpalatable.

Deep golden amber. Very odd nose of freshly boiled wort, tropical fruits. Rich, but malty mouth, fairly well balanced. The mouth is balanced but nothing like I’ve had before with IPAs. Lot of continental ingredients in the mouth. The finish is not hoppy but the hops justblinger. Very strange, but certainly well made. The more I drink the more I enjoy it. Very unique.

Bottle at Churchkey, recommendation of Greg - thanks! Golden color, huge white fluffy head. Aroma of very subtle licorice. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly peppery, decent malt, subtle vanilla. Classic example of the style.

Shared by Rastacouere at RBSG grand tasting. A crazy Belgian ale with lots of spices. Huge spice aroma; caramel, more spice. Sweet, though the spices are well integrated. Lots of ginger in it. Interesting, and definitely more for winter!

Purchased at Marché Omni (formerly Marché Jovi). Pours a clear golden-orange colour with a big foamy off-white head that stays a long, long time and leaves great lacing. Carbonation is pretty low, with a few big bubbles coming up to surface from time to time. Surprised to not have a big hoppy nose, but grainy with caramel sweetness from the malt. The hop is lightly hidden in the background. The taste is like burnt toffee with some bitterness in the finish, but still not overcoming the wetness on the tongue. No burns, but the alcohol is felt in the flavour. Nothing too crazy here, but easy-drinkability and nice to see a different take on this style. Still, prefer the hoppier double-IPAs.

Bottle. Golden beer with a huge off-white head. Esters and yeast aroma with light earth. Tropical fruit and yeast flavor with light spice. Medium bodied. Finishes dry. Tropical fruit and yeast lingers with spice and light earth.

Deep golden color. Very carbonated, rocky head. Heavily spiced with orange peel, ginger and cardamon. Somewhat minerally. Highly carbonated mouth, full bodied with ginger and oranges standing out. Not as well balanced or as dry, as I hoped. Moderately bitter finish. Decent, but not outstanding.

Pours a light amber color, earthy hops and caramel nose shine in the nose, but are not over powering. Mouth is a bit chewy, lots of caramel and hops balancing each other out. Good balance. Moderately bitter finish. Good example of the style.
