Bouteille 500ml.

Originally rated May 2005. This milk stout pours a dark brown with red highlights. The aroma is awesome with full chocolat and hints of caramel. The taste is mostly coffee, especially in the finish and aftertaste. There is slight molasse and some bitterness. Very smooth mouthfeel and quite creamy. I would say that the aroma is this brews best thing, but overall, a real pleasant creamy stout.

Bottle: Poured a medium amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of fruity ester with a bitter edge. Taste is also a mix of weird fruity hops with a bitter finish. Some floral notes are apparent though not as dominant as expected. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Interesting experiment though this hops is better as a complement then standing by itself.

Bottle: Poured a bright golden yellow with a super huge pure white foamy head with great retention and super good lacing. Aroma of sugar, light warming alcohol and fruity ester such as apricot. Taste is very refreshing though still complex enough with warm alcohol notes and fruity ester with nice residual sugar notes as well. Body is quite full for style with great carbonation and alcohol is somewhat detectable. Well brewed and enjoyable as most beers from this brewer.

Bottle, 9%. Interesting spicy aroma. Hazy dark brown colour, red shine. OK small light brown head. The flavour is nicely spicy, quite sweet with some dried. Has some metal flavour, would have been quite nice without it.

50cl bottle - pours a hazy gold - lively pour - soapy lace - some honey sweetness and overripe banana phenols hit the nose first - candi sugar - underneath the sweetness is lurking a complex spice and herb combination (white pepper, sage, thyme, mint) - very inviting - the carbonation is a but too full in the mouth, and gets a little abrasive at times - a lot of clean sugar sweetness throughout - a bit of banana and overripe apple - from the middle through the finish it is actually quite spicy, with quite a bit of the herbal character that is present in the aroma - gets a touch peppery - moderate bitterness on the tail end - however, the sweetness lingers on through all of this, overstaying its welcome - if the beer dried out more as the herb and spicy character started to come to the fore, this would be a lot better - still, a really solid attempt at a difficult to brew style.
