Courtesy of after4ever. Thanks Tom. Pours clear deep copper with white head. The aroma is modest in strength with spicy hops and some citrus as well as malt sweetness off in the background. The taste is pretty smooth and sweet rolling into a modest level of spicy hops and smooth citrus hop flavor. It seems this may have a bit of age on it creating a smoothness that doesn’t fit too well into this bold style.

Courtesy of after4ever. Thanks Tom. Pours clear copper with loose white head. The aroma is mild with sweet citrus candy and some modest spiciness. The taste is similar with pretty thick mildly aged malts blending into a pleasing citrus hop flavor of orange juice mixed with grapefruit juice and a touch of pine and spicy hop bitterness. Tasty stuff.

750ml bottle at the DC Local tasting. Pours a hazy, yellow gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is big on candy sugar, Belgian yeast, a little spice, a little tropical fruit. Where are the hops? Flavor is sweet, finally you find some hop bitterness, sweet sugars too. Finish is medium bodied with some light, lasting hop bitterness.

Bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar at April’s DC local tasting, thanks. Bright yellow color, huge off white head. Aroma of freshly baked bread and citrus. Taste is very smooth, with a subtle edge of lemon. Very nice.

bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. Thanks hopscotch. pours golden, white head. Aroma picked up many Belgian characteristics of strong ales; yeast sweetness, sugar notes along with malt and hops. flavors, retains a lot of the Belgian ale yeasty flavors and compensated with the addition of tons of spices and fruits of the various hops used in this brew. A lot going on, grapefruits adding a mild bitter palate, lots of citrus, lemon and tropical notes.

500ml bottle pours a totally transparent, orange amber with some cloudy white head. This aroma has much more straight forward citrus than the Simcoe version, pine, light sweetness. Flavor is more bitter than the Simcoe version, sweet too, good malt backbone, caramel, oranges, lemons. Medium bodied, bitter finish.
