Description
Hammerton Brewery is a microbrewery based in Islington brewing small batch beers with the aim to bring great tasting beer back to the borough and also re-establish the Hammerton Brewery name in London.
Hammerton Brewery originally began brewing in London in 1868. Sadly it ceased to brew in the late 1950s and was later demolished. In 2014, a member of the Hammerton family decided to resurrect the family name in brewing. It also brings brewing back to Islington, a London borough with a great beer making heritage.

Keg draught at Jerome's Wine Bar, Brockley. Light to mid-gold, a bit hazy possibly, with a small white head. Light grapefruit aroma, some orange. Taste is mostly sweet, perhaps a birlt musty, with fruit hop notes followed by a decent bitterness. Light body, medium to heavy carbonation. It's just okay.

Tastes like it says it should. Salted caramel deliciousness. Further down there’s a bit of bitterness which is interesting. Bit burnt and smoky. Is very nice but a bit confusing. Amazing taste for the strength or is it just all syrup or something? Some kind of maple story thing going on too.

Kind of sweet, fruity, maybe my cold is inhibiting the bitterness. Resin, and a bit of caramel. Kind of interesting actually.

Sweet yet sour. Definitely get the peach, and the pastry too. It’s pretty nice. Vanilla aftertaste. Good stuff.

Alright. In fact nice, but I’m running out of energy. Nothing to either complain or get overexcited by.

One-third on tap, sample tray at Hammerton Brewery`s taproom. Jet black in the glass, low beige head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Inviting on the nose with cocoa powder and grainy chocolate, lightly roasted. Mid-sweet taste profile of caramel-chocolate and an input of nuts, lactose beneath. Smoothly roasted end. Medium bodied. Pretty good. (London, 08.12.2023).

One-third on tap, sample tray at Hammerton taproom. Hazy golden body under a filmy layer, clingy lacing. Inviting smell of tropical fruit with a floral touch. Hop fruity taste of mango and grapefruits. Short hop fruity tail. Decent thirst quencher. (London, 08.12.2023).
