Draught @ Kafe Belgie, Utrecht Aroma has woody tones, some resiny malt and fruity hops. Also some sweetish berry juice and vanilla. Flavour has some sweet resiny tones typical to American strong ales, slightly tart berry juice, woody tones and minerals. Dryish finish. More like amber ale than california common by taste. There is some harsh maltiness typical to lagers though. Pairs fine with Uitsmijter, although mild alcohol tones start to come through.

Draught @ Kafé België, Utrecht Aroma is odd and light with grapefruit and tart citrus. Feels a bit contaminated. Flavour has caramel, tart citron, some lactic tones, biscuits and apricot. Slight feeling of contamination in the flavour side too. Also this is a bit messy and mellow. Gets better at the middle of the glass though and contamination notes step aside. But then again at the end of the glass this feels quite sweet and drinkability suffers. Could not locate the IPA here.

On tap @ Kafé België, Utrecht with Ivar. Clear orange amber with an off-white head. Grapefruit aroma and taste, with some faint pineapple and melon. Will re-rate on a nice hot summer day instead of this rainy stormy one. I suspect I will appreciate it much more then.
