Cask Conditioned, Akkurat Stockholm
Dark brown to black color; thin head. Aroma of caramel, malt, dust, yeast. Smooth; the taste is quite balanced (malt, roasted malt, caramel, liquorice). Good.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Colour is very dark brown, almost black, with dense light brown head. Roasted nose with lots of dark chocolate. Roasted taste with dark, bitter chocolate and dried fruit (prunes). Quite full bodied, with a tarry hint. Easily drinkable despite the abv. Nice!

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Opaque and near black, Fruity nose with some sweaty hops. Dryish with very soft, rounded moutfeel and firm malt back bone. Cocoa and canned fruit dominates. There’s some some salty licorice in a finish with low bitterness. It’s like chewing a baloon filled with water - it’s soft and full, but it doesn’t have a terrible lot of flavour.

Cask handpull at The Three Greyhounds, London Xmas Pub Crawl. Copper with thin white head. Very cinnamon/nutmeg nose. Really very pleasant actually. Good spice and one of the best Xmas beers this year. Pale malt is juicy, but could do with a bit more body. Very well integrated flavours which make the whole thing work as a beer. Really very nice.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malty, while the flavor besides being sweet has a light hoppy touch, leading to a dry bitter end. The body is thin.

Cask at Wetherspoons in Hammersmith Copper in colour with good mix of fruity malt and hops on the end. Very well made and good structure. I liked this a lot and could have had a few more, but I had a conference to go to.

Cask at Yew Tree Inn, Barfrestone One of the better milds as it shows good roasted malt flavours. Maybe not as good as Black Cat, but still worth a pint

Cask at County Hotel (JDW) Ashford Normally I like Coach House beers very much, but this was a bit too sweet for me and although advertised as a pale ale, it wasn’t that pale. Sweet malt in mouth with a sweetish finish with some hay and hop notes.
