Chamomile-flavoured saison by this Dutchman-operated brewery in the German-speaking part of Belgium, launched in spring 2021 and brewed with not only barley but wheat, rye and oats as well. Thanks tderoeck for sharing. Snow white, moussy, lightly lacing, unstable and breaking head, initially clear ‘old gold’ robe with vague metallic-orangey tinge, misty with sediment. Weird aroma of old oxidized champagne, old worn-out felt mats, oxidized apple slices, green pear, rubber, white bread, Maitrank – generally speaking, a lot of ageing in a beer which should not have been this old, and a lot of chamomile, making me wonder how strong this ingredient must have been when the beer was still young. Fruity onset, sweet with hints of ripe pear, apple and sweet white grapes, fizzy carbonation, smooth body; bit dryish middle, cereally and white-bready malts carrying, again, this unexpected but very strong flavour of old stale champagne and Maitrank – this effect must be related to the chamomile again, but in a distorted kind of way. Spicy hop bitter note in the tail. Very bizarre saison with flavours and aromas which I doubt were intentional – should have been consumed younger, in any case, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt for now, even though it certainly does not strengthen my already feeble confidence in this brewery, on the contrary…

Clear orange beer, big aery irregular off-white head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: wow, very dirty, chemical, sugary, alcohol, some tropical fruits, cleaning product, dirty and a bit weird, some disinfectant, this smells bad. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: chemical start, bad, a bit soapy, very unpleasant bitterness. Aftertaste: a bit chemical, dusty, a bit oxidized, some band-aid, fusels, esters, chemical, very unpleasant, paint.

Pours a deep amber to reddish brown colour, slightly hazy, and an off white forthy head that quickly recedes. Aroma's of coffee, roast, slightly sulphuric. Retronasal it's sweetish, white chocolate, coffee. Flavour is light sweet, a little bit sour, coffee-ish. Fairly strong alcohol feel. Light medium bodied. Quite high, prickly carbonation. Finishes somewhat dry, light moderate bitter. A bit messy.
