[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A bright pale amber pour with a loose white head; leafy hedgerow hop aroma; sweet biscuity malt body to start, then drier with a floral bitterness. Not bad for a house ale.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, tiny pale tan head. Light palate, fairly smooth, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth caramel. Tangy ripe fruits and plenty of Christmas spice. Light finish. My first and hopefully last Christmas nonsense beer of 2022.

Hand-pulled pint in the Jewel of the Crown (Spoons), Bridgnorth on Sunday 21st August 2022. White head on a clean and clear light amber body. Decent blend, little more malty than hoppy, nice change from citrussy beers; this is more like a traditional UK bitter using older established hops that give a balanced semi-fruity bitterness which sit nicely with the malty base.
