[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A bright pale amber pour with a loose white head; leafy hedgerow hop aroma; sweet biscuity malt body to start, then drier with a floral bitterness. Not bad for a house ale.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A bright straw coloured pour with a tight white head; floral aroma; bitter herbal taste with a sweet biscuity body; and a fresh leafy finish with lingering red berries. Very drinkable.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, tiny pale tan head. Light palate, fairly smooth, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth caramel. Tangy ripe fruits and plenty of Christmas spice. Light finish. My first and hopefully last Christmas nonsense beer of 2022.
