Cask @ City Arms, Manchester. Very dark with a red hue and a small creamy off-white head. It’s a milky stout with a full roasted taste. Has a light aroma. At The Rising Sun in Mossley in 2024 it looked better but was more floral in design.

Sample at the Black Eagle, Birmingham. Golden pour with white head. Unfortunate bad aroma of sick. Nicer flavour with citrus, tropical fruit, wheat and yeast. Not bad but shame about the smell

Half pint shared, on tap at black eagle, Birmingham. Good creamy white head. Slightly hazy blind pour. Nice.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Well, this beer came out of nowhere. Pours clear yellow with a fine, white foam head. Perfect golden ale aroma: crispy straw, light citrus and faint, doughy bread. Medium sweet flavor, lemon zest and rind, fresh straw, light grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Crisp finish with light, tangy citrus, lemon, straw and hay, lasting grassy bitterness. An exceptional golden ale.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 4/1/2012. Golden with a decent white head. Light, citrus hop aroma with some biscuit malts. Light, malty flavour with a bitter finish. Fine.

Cask @ Stalybridge Buffet Bar, Staylbridge rail station. Superb golden ale, not full-bodied, but full of flavour and a great fruity finish.

Cask @ 12th Ayrshire Real Ale Festival, Troon 2011. Clear golden colour, white head. Nose is grapefruit, hoppy, passion fruit, bit of sourness. Flavour is hoppy, grapefruit, smooth maltiness, bit of candy, slightly sour and fairly bitter. Smooth and well balanced. This is a cracker.

Cask, handpump at The Dragon, Worcester, 17.09.11 Pours crystal clear gold with a slim white head, looks good. Touch woody in the mouth and not as crisp as some of the Millstone beers, bitterness is decent, its a nice beer, just a little different from the typical Millstone beers. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
