A copper beer, a head is quite big and light beige. Aroma is mixed with caramel, smoke, sweet berries. Taste has pretty strong smokyness, berries, dry woodness, also bitterness. Medium bodied, slightly fluffy. Unique, quite nice.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a creamy head. Hoppy with easy supping water, but a little gritty in its design.

500ml bottle conditioned; BBE Oct 2020. Drank at home on 26th Nov 2019. It would have been a clean and clear golden colour, but I allowed the sediment to leave the bottle, so I got a misty/cloudy body with a few floating items within. The head was a smooth white affair. Light citrus notes in the nose, orange like esters to the fore. Taste also orange forward.

Handpull cask at Trackside, Bury. Dark gold and clear with a big off-white head. Malt loaf, light citrus some heavy astringency in the aroma. Tastes sweet, with notes of grapefruit and papaya despite the fact it's quite malt-forward. Aftertaste is quite astringent but overall it's a fairly nicely balanced beer.

Cask at Sun, Stafford RERATE : strangely enough, this time, in the same venue, the beer IS hazy ... ORIGINAL REVIEW : Well my beer was certainly NOT hazy as some raters proclaim. It poured a clear golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. There’s a really nice spicy aroma including cloves and coriander. Spices aren’t so noticeable in the mouth, where the dominant feature is the wheat plus tangerines and banana. Hops start coming through in the finish but there are also apples and oranges there. Very nice indeed. Possibly the best witbier I’ve ever had in cask form !

[50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell.] A bright amber pour with a thick cream coloured head; pleasant herbal bitterness with a robust malty body and a trace of yeast; then earthy English hops in the finish. Rather good.

[50cl bottle from Morrison’s, Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a thick cream head; malty caramel aroma; jammy in the mouth, but not too sweet; then a biscuity finish with a light herbal bitterness. Not bad.
