Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Very dark brown, average head. Lemony licorice aroma. Sweet, fruity and yasty with citric signs of early infection. Roasty malt competes against lemon and yeast, but it’s irrelevant who wins, as this beer is going nowhere. Finishes with a blast of resiny bitterness.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Clear golden, airy head. Lemony wheat aroma. Fairly sweet and rather light bodied. Sweaty and fruity with coriander and orange marmelade. The British ale character clashes with Belgian witbier spices resulting in a mess. However it’s a highly quaffable mess.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Pale amber, rich head, some sediment. Concentrated seville orange marmelade aroma. Sweet up front. Rather yeasty with light body. Evidenltly hoppy, creating a bittersweet flavour of Old English marmelade. Drier finish with striking bitterness.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Hazy golden, fairly rich airy head. Distict flowery hop aroma with notes of grapefruit. Dryish and light bodied with crisp mouthfeel. Very light buttery/bready malt rest underneath a field flowery hops. With it’s very ligh body the bitter finish gets very close to getting an metallic edge. A good, light quencher.

Bottle. Pours a darkbrown/black color with a longlasting tan head. Sweet malty roasted chocolate aroma. Smooth sweet roasted malty flavor with chocolate and coffee hints. Roasted finish with chocolate and coffee in the aftertaste.

Cask conditioned at Merton Beer Festival 17-02-07. This beer poured a cloudy strawlike colour without a head. Of all the beers this dissapointed most, I’m not convinced there was anything particlualry wrong with this rather that it was just completely underwhelming. I for one could not get the coriander or lemon, getting only a slightly metallic smell with possibly some wheat there as well. The taste hardly picked it back up either and came across as being very flat and forgettable, I really couldn’t find much too taste at all, looking at some of the other comments maybe we didn’t get a particularly great one but I for one just felt it was totally devoid of character and had little or nothing to offer and yet some people I served were telling me that yes they could get the coriander and lemon, hey-ho!

Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Black with thin dark beige head. Very nice stout. Lots of choc and sticky dark fruit on aroma. Juicy malt in mouth with more choc, prune, damson, blackcurrant in mouth and then satisfying drying finish. Great stout.
