Bottle from Bert’s Pours a hazy medium golden orange color with a decent sized bubbly white head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Aromas of tart cherry and earthy funk with hints of vanilla and oak tannin. Very light whiffs of brown sugar and mineral water round out the aroma. The flavor holds some nice lightly tart fruit flavors offset with a solid hit of earthy funk and just a hint of wood character. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a tart lightly chalky almost ashy mouthfeel. Quite fruity for a sour ale, I was a hater when I first poured, but this one really grew on me especially as it warmed and opened up.

12 oz. bottle thanks to Phatdog1. Yet another bottle without any kind of bottle date or best buy. Marked as 6.5% ABV. Dark ruby color without any head. Aroma is red wine grapes and tannins oak.
Flavor is more along the lines of a red wine. Red wine vinegar, musty oak in a chalky, roasted malt body. Medium body with a real soft carbonation. Port wine or perhaps a sherry hint. Lightly astringent in the finish.

375 ml bottle pours a translucent garnet amber with a thin ring of white head. Nose is all dubbel, candy sugar, yeasty esters, some booze, some concord grape, caramel, prune, bubblegum. Flavor has more barrel, a little vanillin, a bit of sharp cherry cough syrup, woody, some beet sugar, lime zest. Full bodied finish. A bit unfocused.

Fairly quick to recede light beige head tops a chestnut colored body of moderate clarity.
Heavy oak, wine chalkiness and some citrus in the nose. Hints of light nutmeg and barrel tannin, with very soft phenols adding more spicey dryness. More grape character as it warms, and very little malt sweetness to balance all these dry notes.
Flavor is just incredibly dry. Chalky, woody, tannic and very astringent. A lot like drinking a glass of pinot noir...Very little body, scratchy, dry crystal malts produce an earthy, almost lightly chocolate-like flavor while some citrus character seems out of place. Much like foeder prjoekt 1 in that it’s just way too dominated by the barrel. Overattenuated to the extreme.

Bottle @ Armin’s apartment, courtesy of lukaduke. Thanks Luke ! Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Rich chocolate, quite fruity, light anise nose. Smells very nice. Pretty intense flavor. Thick dark chocolate, huge date, apple, grape flavor. Definitely showing some age, but geeez, this has a killer, spicy brandy flavor. Delicious.
