Description
The brewery (location) is closed, beer is being brewed in Alabama @ Oyster City Brewing.
It all began with a Christmas gift in 1994. Billy Pyatt, a notoriously hard guy to buy presents for, fell in love with the carboys, pots, hydrometers, grains, hops, chemistry, and physics involved in brewing. His brother, Scott, fell right in with him. Their love became an obsession that could only be resolved by going pro – not an easy thing to do in 1999!
We have tasting Rooms in Asheville, Morganton and Charlotte NC. Our kegs & cans are distributed in TN, NC, SC, GA and AL.

Draft at Revolution Pizza and Ale House, 1/7/15
It is a darker orange-brown in color. I thought this was a solid, on-style Pumpkin beer. It wasn't a favorite for me in the style, something fell a little short of that, but it's decent enough.

Location: Draft at the brewery, Asheville, 1/1/15
Aroma: It has a fairly mild aroma, light hops, orange/citrus, and a bit of bread
Appearance: It has a clear orange color with a small white head and some decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, with light malty sweetness and thin hops
Palate: The body of this one is light-medium, and it has a decent feel overall
Overall Impression: I actually preferred most of the other, less common, Catawba beers to their flagship IPA. It's a decent beer, but it's a little dull.

Location: Draft at the brewery, 1/1/15
Aroma: This one has a fairly light spice, wheat, and yeast aroma, mild citrus
Appearance: It pours a clear yellow color, with a small white head, and spotty lace
Flavor: The flavor is similar to the nose, spice, wheat, yeast, a little more character than the nose
Palate: This one has a clean feel and average carbonation, and it is pretty easy drinking
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent wit. Nothing amazing here, but you could do worse than to sip on a few of these.

Location: Cask at the brewery, Asheville, 1/1/15
Aroma: The aroma is on the lighter side, with some light spice and malty notes
Appearance: It pours a murky brown color, with a slight orange hue to it
Flavor: The taste is along the same lines, fairly light, with some spice and malt notes to it
Palate: The body is light, not super watery, but a little thin, with a mild overall feel
Overall Impression: This one isn't too bad, but I just felt it was light overall on flavor. Not bad, not great. This was on the lower end for me of the Catawba beers I tried.
