Description
The brewery (location) is closed, beer is being brewed in Alabama @ Oyster City Brewing.
It all began with a Christmas gift in 1994. Billy Pyatt, a notoriously hard guy to buy presents for, fell in love with the carboys, pots, hydrometers, grains, hops, chemistry, and physics involved in brewing. His brother, Scott, fell right in with him. Their love became an obsession that could only be resolved by going pro – not an easy thing to do in 1999!
We have tasting Rooms in Asheville, Morganton and Charlotte NC. Our kegs & cans are distributed in TN, NC, SC, GA and AL.

Refrigerated 12oz. aluminum can, can says 5.1% ABV, poured into a weizen glass. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with little head which dissipates fast. Aroma is nice coriander, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is coriander, esters, some background bitterness, and some orange peel. Has good richness, more carbonation might bump this up a couple spots. Like to try this again.

12 oz. can. Pours light, hazy yellow, with a small, off-white head. Distinct aroma of bitter orange peels, cloves, bready yeast, and some noble hops. Sweet, with a mild bitterness through the finish. Light to medium body, sticky, and a little syrupy. Overall, this is a nice witbier; the aroma is a little strong, and the flavor is a little bitter. Still, a nice, drinkable beer.

Draft at the brewery taproom during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours lightly hazy gold with a white cream topping. A little poopy on the nose (thanks, brett!) with good general funk and ripe citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor with mellow funk, low bitterness, some melon and tangerine. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish with some further citrus character, juicy melon, light funky twang. Good.
