Bottle at Chriso’s Xmas Tasting 2015. It pours clear deep ruby - brown with a medium white head. The nose is sweet, toasty, spice, caramel, light must, brown bread and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, caramel, toffee, toast, spice, leather, touch of cardboard and some light alcohol warmth with a dry, toasted finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Comes together fairly well. OK festive offering.

Bottle split at the Chriso pre Xmas tasting, 06/12/15. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is light spice, hint of ginger, toffee, biscuit, dark fruits. Taste comprises light spice, toffee, sweet malt, nothing overly offensive just not a lot on offer. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, a touch too sweet overall.

Light toffee in the snout, lightly toasted brown bread, ripe berries. Medium sweet flavor with light fruity tang, more toffee, bread, faint spice. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish with subtle leafy hops, earth, more ripe berries. Nice for the style.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a beautiful, clear amber with an off-white head. Burned caramel, toffeeish and then the spicy notes of bog myrtle. Rich warming malty body, a strange underlying tartness - from the berries I guess. Probably was a good base Bock - spoiled by so called New nordic spices. What a pity. 251115
