(Bottle 37,5 cl) Hazy, orangey golden beer with a fairly decent head. Tart and citrusy indeed, but for a traditional gueuze this is almost smooth and soft and almost easy to drink. But then of course it hasn’t got quite the same complexity as the more extreme gueuzes. Still an experience though. 110700

(Bottle 75 cl) In this version called "Kriek Oud-Beersel" at 6% ABV. Faint reddish colour with a smal pink head. The sour , vinegary notes hit you as soon as the cork is removed and the tartness continue all the way through. This is a very traditional sour lambic, but lacks some finesse. Not really any trace of cherries - apart from the colour. 130498 (Bottle 37,5 cl) As "Oude Beersel Oude Kriek" 6/3/6/3/12=3 270601 (Bottle 37,5 cl) 7/4/7/3/13= 3.4 080707

Light brown/orange colour. Thick head. Acidic barnyard-aroma. Well-balanced apple-sourish flavour with a nice raisin-sweetness lurking in the background.

Bottle. Sour, musty/dirt (a sandy loam)dusty malt aroma. Dark amber color - slightly cloudy with giant head that quickly collapses. Moderate tart malt flavor - not puckeringly sour - mustiness apparent throughouth with the slightest hint of sweetness. Well blended - no flavor tends to overpower this lambic. A nicely drinkable brew.

Two ratings, one for beer from before and one from after the take over.

Rating from 2007, beer from after the take over, sampled at ZBF 2007, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium
Hazy, blond body. Off-white, creamy head. Quite lightly coloured for a gueuze. Aroma of fruits, apples, oak, ... wonderful! Lightly bitter, moderately sour flavour, which is very complex and very well balanced. Great! (9/3/9/4/16=4.1)

Rating from 2004 Blond clear body. White, fizzy head, mostly lasting and fairly lacing. Traditional gueuze aroma: fruity sour. Quite soft mouthfeel. Lightly sour initial flavour and lighty sour finish. (9/3/8/3/16=3.9)

An unclear red with no head. The aroma is of sweet cherry. The flavor is sweet and sour of cherries. A lovely beer. A lot better than the first time I tried it (at the brewery 2 years ago} - my tastebuds must hav evolved.
