Description
Yet another game-changer in the history of Mikkeller, the opening of Baghaven marked the moment when – finally – spontaneously fermented sour beer was made using local terroir. Importing skilled American brewer Ehren Schmidt to head up operations at Baghaven helped establish the foundation for a location that would fuse tradition with cutting-edge innovation.

Bottle shared with RJ. Ruby pour with no head. Nose and taste are that of an easy drinking table red wine: huuuge stone fruits and red grapes, pleasant but intense tannins. It's so vineous it's crazy it doesnt have any grapes in it, very smooth to drink as well. Might not be that complex but very pleasant anyway

Taste comprises sharp citric, lemon rind, barnyard, funk, vinous, straw.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced acidic rise.
Decent sour.

75 cl bottle poured in to a flute glass. Hazy reddish with an amber tint, a frothy pink head. Tart fruity aroma with brett, leather, lemons, raspberries, and dry, wooden notes. The taste is sour. Medium to full body, lively carbonation. Tart, fruity finish with lingering raspberries. Excellent.

From tap at Mikkeller at Morebeer, Amsterdam. Lovely tart cherry aroma with barnyard funk, oak, blackcurrant, additional dark and red berries. Tart and medium sour. Body is medium. Brilliant cherry aroma with funk and a good tartness, quite up my alley.

From tap at Mikkeller at Morebeer, Amsterdam. Big puckering sourness with citrus, lemon, oak, grass. Dry with just the kind of sour flavour I crave. Medium body. Truly lovely.

From bottle at Wild Fest Groningen 2022. Big fruity aroma with red and black berries, some cherry and currant. Mild to medium sour with some sweetness, somewhat chewy mouthfeel. Rich stuff.
