Description
Speyside Brewery is based in Moray Speyside, the heart of Scotland's malt whisky country. More than 50 distilleries are within a 30-mile radius of the brewery, using the same water for their iconic whiskies that we use to make our beer.
Founded by chemistry student Seb Jones in November 2012, the brewery produces a varied core range of beers - named after local
icons - as well as popular seasonal beers. We are proud to make them.
Brewery closed in 2020. Relaunched in Summer 2023 with a different beer lineup.

On cask at the Bow Bar. Appearance - amber with a nice head. Nose - biscuit and apple. Some grapes too. Taste - more apples and dry biscuit. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a decent ipa which is more English in style than American.

Bottle at Queen Vic, Aberdeen. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is wood, leather, brown bread, grain, citrus and light soap. The taste is smooth, wood, leather, caramel, orange peel and grain. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Not a game changing beer, but easy going and drinkable.

Cask @ Highlander Inn. Hazy light tan w frothy head. Aroma is yeasty, taste is too. Thin and a bit dirty-tasting, there isn’t enough malt or hops to overpower the assertive and largely negative yeast character.

500ml bottle form Oddbins. Pours clear amber-gold. thin white head. Aromas of light orange peel, honey. Taste is quite a light bitterness, considering, some more honeyish malt sweetness. Could definitely take more bitterness, but a good beer nonetheless.
