12 oz bottle from Sparky27. Pour is hazed golden yellow with swirling cascading building up. Two inch white head. Head is lasting, eventually falls with nice lacing. Aroma of citrus bitterness, a bit sour, some earthy maltiness behind that. Sort of a flinty gypsum odor way in the back. Taste is dirty bitter slightly sour citrus with dirty toasted maltiness behind that. The same flinty character is in the taste, and is quite pronounced - dominating mid palate through to a long finish. Decent carbonation on the body. Overall, this one lingered a bit too long and a bit too dirty. Thanks for sending it my way, Eric.

Bottle with much thanks to tpd975. The name just kills me. I’m not sure why I find it so funny, though. Pours a copper color with a big had that sticks to the side of the glass as it dies back. Aromas are hoppy and sweet, but a little on the weak side. Flavor is sticky brown sugar with some caramel, figs and dates and alcohol. There’s a bit of a pine hops finish to it. This is a mighty fine barley wine in my book. Sure, it’s not going to amaze you, but I could drink it all winter long... then again, as it warms it gets a little too sweet...

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Sparky27. Thanks! Pours a copper color with a medium head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma is very grainy, almost corny with some moderate leafy hops. Taste is grain, caramel, citrus hops. Slightly bitter in the ending. Medium bodied.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Sparky27. Thanks! Pours a clear reddish brown color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Nutty aroma with notes of toffee and fruit. Something a little offputting is there. Taste is very similar but with a metallic note. Seems a bit off. Medium bodied.

Bottle #2604 Of 3156. 750 ml bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, Nebraska. Pour is red ruby copper with a one inch off white pour. Aroma of earthy cherry fruitiness, elements of ear wax. Taste is big raspberry and strawberry, the sweetness of the fruit without much of the sour / tartness. Much cleaner than was expected from the nose. Some hot alcohol on the finish. Just OK.

Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. I had to look at my notes twice for this one. Really, is that the name? Malty syrupy barley wine aroma. Bit toffeeish, not too much alcohol in mouth. OK

Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper with a small off white head. The aroma is a sweet malt with fruit and peanuts. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is a light malt with a bitter hop finish. Easy to drink, a decent american pale ale from Sante Fe.
