Description
In mythology, literature and many cultures, the Raven is seen as a culture hero, a revered and benevolent, transformative figure. The Raven helps people, blesses them with gifts and shapes the world. But at the same time, he is a frivolous trickster, a light-hearted prankster who is sometime gluttonous and impatient. The Raven as our totem works perfectly. We like to think we are creative, wise, playful and a bit bird-brained; just like those wacky Ravens.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours strawberry/copper with a slight, transient beige head. Aroma of deeply roasted malts - almost like meat. Near full bodied. Flavor is fruity/roasty malt. A bit, woody is not the word, but it’s close. There’s an almost strawberry note to go with the very rich malts. Despite all the malt it’s not all that sweet. Tho certainly not dry. Hops dance around in the background. Maybe there’s a chocolate hint. It’s very "fresh", fruit wise. Really good, if you’re in a malty mood.

Draft pour pint at Malt and Vine. Pours a clear copper orange color with a fading head. Fresh hops and sweet berry filled aroma. No flavor hints here. Explosion of sweet blueberry, and vanilla. I think the flavor is a little on the intense side, and too.sweet, though it’s overall pretty good. Like a blueberry tea beer.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose is very woody, with lots of oak, bretty funk, and hay. Flavour is quite funky, with considerable bretty notes, wood and oak -- not getting any of the fruit. Super dry, funky and a little bready. Wonderfully complex and highly drinkable. Excellent.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy/citrus. Med body or nearly. Flavor is earthy, citrus, lightly phenolic, mildly woody. Could be grape notes. It’s rather clean, rather refreshing. Finishes earthy dryish.

Hmmm. I don’t think this is retired anymore. Anyway, bomber thanks to Chris. Pours a clear darkish amber color with a small white head. A big fruity berry nose. Sweet fresh hops, caramel, then comes in a big shovel of blueberries, light mint. Super clean and nice. The berries are a bit much, or at least too sweet. But it works.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is citrus and floral. Med body. Flavor is citrus, floral, pine, hint of earth. Mild caramel, but enough to support the hop. It is really quite bitter - though the flavors aren’t super strong. Drinks nicely. Hop burn tends to build over time.

Malt & Vine. Pours clear and ruddy with a slight tan head. Aroma is red berry fruity. Med body at least. Flavor is red berry, wood, The flavors are inticing, but they need to be more firm. As is, it’s an extremely pleast and clean drink.

650 ml bottle Nate P. carried back from his West Coast trip. Color is an orange / clear gold. Aroma is citrus, light floral with sweet malts.

The balance between hops and malt is rather good although it does lean a tad on the sweet side. The hops and bitterness comes from a mixture of citrus and pine and mild floral hints. The brew shows a mild trace of alcohol in the finish. Citrus and floral are more present than pine. Can tell this bottle was fresh from the brewery because the hops are still alive in well. It a nice standard IPA.
