Location: On tap at the Brewery - Union Square, 3/23/10
Aroma: The aroma is lots of dark malts and a touch of honey
Appearance: Dark brown color with a tan head
Flavor: The taste is mostly dark malts, roasted and chocolate notes
Palate: The mouthfeel is alright, though it is a bit thin
Overall Impression: Overall this beer is alright. I don't really get the honey flavors in there that I was expecting. I really just didn't love it, but I could probably drink it again. Its a drop thin and underwhelming. Decent, though surely unspectacular.

Aroma: It has a nose of citrus, pine, and toffee, nice American hop feel
Appearance: It pours a hazy caramel color, thin white head, lots of lace
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet (toffee), and light-medium bitter
Palate: Medium-full bodied beer with a decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This is a nice American style Barleywine. It has a very nice hop-feel to it, and is really pretty good overall. A surprisingly good beer from Heartland.

Aroma: Nose is Belgian yeast and spice with some underlying notes of corn and caramel malts
Appearance: Pours a hazy orange color
Flavor: The familiar Belgian yeast flavors dominate the sweet corn/malty flavors
Palate: The body is light-medium with an overly fizzy mouthfeel that detracts from the beer
Overall Impression: This one is definitely better then the normal Cornhusker lager, but it still isn't so great. The spice and flavors from the Belgian yeast are definitely an improvement on the recipe, but the over-carbonation is still an issue, and the beer itself still isn't really that great.

Had this during a drinking lunch at work. An interesting beer for heartland however i found it too nutmegy or gingery. Tasted better as it warmed but something slighty off at first and not something you could drink a lot of. But still glad i had it especially on a wednesday at noon.

Draught at Spuyten Duyvil, New York
Nice amber color. The aroma is light, dusty, and unfortunately it immediately shows some light cinnamon; also some yeast and feet. Medium body structure, simple malt/caramel flavor, with traces of vegetables and cinnamon. Ordinary bitterness. Rather unpleasant.

A golden amber ale with a thick off white head. Nice light and pungeant aroma of c-hops, restrained and classy. In mouth, a good crisp malt with nice floral hops, nice and balanced for an IPA. On tap at brewpub Times Sq., July 2, 2009

A blonde ale with a thin lacing white head. Light apricot aroma, faint, non descript. In mouth, arun of the mill apricot ale with light apricot tartness, a bit oily. Boring. On tap at brewpub, July 2, 2009, 4.95 for half-pint.
