Description
Sea Cider is a farm-based cidery located on the Saanich Peninsula just minutes from Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Our ten-acre farm is home to over 1,300 apple trees, made up of over 50 varieties of heritage apples.

Sea Cider opened its farm gate for business in 2007 when owner Kristen Jordan purchased the property with a vision of creating an organic farm and orchard and producing traditional fermented artisan ciders. Since then, we’ve grown to an annual cider production of over 7,000 cases and growing. We continue to pride ourselves on crafting traditionally fermented ciders from organically grown apples, and our award-winning cider is now available throughout B.C., Alberta, Manitoba, Washington State, Illinois, and Oregon.

Handbottle. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Very dry aroma - like a dry white wine - and a little wood. Medium body, dry flowery honey accents with a discreet spiciness - and again this oaky note, although it doesn’t seem to be barrel aged. Delicious. 200412

Handbottle 10 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear pale yellow. Interesting aroma, not particularly clean apple, more paint thinner! Light body, lightly sweet apple - although subdued - with a very boozy finish. 200412

Golden-brown colour. Low carbonation. The aroma is appley with a hint of barrel nose. Tart, brisk with buttery rum barrel in the background. Good complexity.

Vintage 2008, bottle from Firefly, Maple Ridge, 12% ABVHazy amber color with red hue. Very nice apple aroma, some wood, caramelized sugars, light vanilla, very light rum. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is quite round, with moderate residual sugars; the cider carries some mild acidity too, apple skins and apple juice flavor, but the cider and the rum don’t blend very well here, or the acidity and the rum maybe. Not bad, but somehow strange.

Clear, very pale yellow and with a gentle sparkle. Bright aroma is pear-like, honeyish, with lightly gingery tartness. Tasty bright pear notes, honeyish, and with more ginger on the palate. Complex, fascinating. I love the dryness of this perry, too.
