Bomber from a local Raley's grocery. Pours dark cola brown with a large, foamy tan head. Aroma of lemon and chocolate. Kind of nice. Med body. Flavor is chocolate and sweet lemon. Unusual, but kind of nice. Pretty earthy. Towards dry. Moderately bitter. Tastes pretty good.

2018 Bottle, wrapped fully in brown Burlap, just as pictured. Deep, slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of light hops, a touch of grass, some floral and very perfumey notes along with a dose of grain and a finish of pure honey sweetness. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and very perfumey notes that show interesting hop profiles without anything pungent, resinous or citrusey, seemingly having those ranges absent entirely from this beer, but the sweetness and very grainy finish make this beer fairly one-dimensional in that respect. Aftertaste shows the slightly bitter flavours from the perfume without much else - the sweetness from caster sugar and honey show as well, but there is no hop punch or complexity at all. Overall, this is my first beer from Ruhstaller, and from the bottle and products available in the store - I was expecting much more. This was weak in almost all respects and seemingly just a ploy in marketing (with the burlap bag) and not enough goes into the craft of making the beer - which is kind of the most important part! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few hours ago from BevMo! in Vacaville, California on 10-March-2019 for US$10,99, sampled in my hotel room here in Vacaville, California on 10-March-2019.

Bomber from the Woodland CostCo. Pours translucent gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of slightly toasted caramel. Hop? Med body or better. Flavor is mixed domestic fruits with some caramel support. There's a toffee aspect. But it's pretty dry, and pretty bitter. With thought the hop seems to be a bit herby as well as fruity. Slight hop burn/bite. Likin' this better than the 18th.

Bomber from Corti Bros. Pours copper tinged gold with a very foamy beige head. Aroma is fruity hop with some mildly roasty malt. Med body or so. It is a bit malty and somewhat bitter. Blind test I might think this was a best bitter. A little earthy. Not bad, but not over the top.

Bomber from Corti Bros. Pours dark brown with a slight darkish tan, foamy head. Aroma is mostly chocolate. Med + body. Flavor is dryish, earthy chocolate. There's a touch of something - might be anise or a herbal hop. It is bitter. Bitter chocolate. The malt is smoothly roasty. From one perspective this is a standard high ABV porter. From another it is unusually tasty. For me it's better than many porters I've had lately.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thick creamy brown cap. The aroma is a mild roast with light citrus hops. Tastes sweeter than expected, modest roast, and faint bitters. Has some citrus juiciness, but relatively light in the hops department. I love a good CDA, but this is pretty mediocre.
