Sampled on tap at SIB, pours deep dark red with a medium beige head. Aroma of candied sugar, caramel and dark fruits. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with a little wood, heaps of caramel and candied sugar. The intense sweetness detracts from what would otherwise be a well-done Belgian-style.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours pale gold with a fizzy creamy white head. Aroma is a little bready with light citrus. Med body. Flavor is softly bready with some citrus like aspects. Perhaps a sturdier kolsch than most.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours a slightly ruddy dark amber with creamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malt and chocolate. Med minus body. Flavor is chocolate/roast malt. It’s slightly sweet. Could have used more juniper, and maybe more hop. But it’s an amber, and they are not supposed to be over the top hop. I guess. However, it finishes with a little hop and juniper, and the flavor combo works well.

On tap at TCBF, pours black with a tan head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, coffee, and sour fruits. Beautifully done - perfect balance of the sourness with the roasted malt.

Shaker pint draft at Naked City Taphouse in Seattle, Washington. Pour is a hazed deep brown - pretty much black with a small khaki head. Aroma of butter sweetness and roasted char malt, a really weird combo - smelled a bit off to me, but also oddly well integrated so who knows, perhaps it is intended. Taste is sweet buttery fruit, followed by roast and char and ashiness. Palate is medium, coats the mouth a bit in a sweet soda sort of way. After the coating clears, there is an interesting mineral finish. Dry stout, with butter sweetness and roast smoke; not sure what this was trying to be.
