A golden beer with a small but OK head. It has a very hoppy aroma. And a very fresh prickling flavor - do I detect some brewing cereal? It has a nice bitterness - but for me new type of hoppiness. A very refreshing beer.

Light gold - med creamy head. Weak aroma: light skunk and cooked rice. Somewhat vegetal - cooked onions? Smells strangely like the food its often served with. Mostly clean and bland - a little bitterness. Either my palate has overly adapted tonight or this is one seriously bland beer.

Light bodied with peculiar, different sweet flavour. Still, nothing special.

I bought this beer just for the fun of it - shipping beer all the way from China to Norway seems like the ultimate absurdity, if the beer isn't something extraordinary. This beer isn't. But Tsingtao is not outright bad either - it just isn't very interesting. Heineken-like aroma, neutral flavour, overly carbonated, no lasting head. Sure it would be refreshing on a summer's day in China - exporting it to Europe should be considered a waste of resources.

This should be called China-ken. Very similar flavor to Heineken, but more skunky.
