Can. Just a light haze on this darkish amber beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, light and mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Lots of oaky wood up front, the light oak induced vanilla blending well with the modest creamy sweetness. Caramel, not that sweet, dark toffee. Some ripe fruits, whisper of berry fruits. Finishes airy and crisp and leaves a long oaky woody linger. Intriguing brew. Thought this would fit snugly in the barleywine bracket or imperial amber. Has elements of both whilst remaining true to itself. Drinks well for the abv.

Can thanks to my brom it pours clear deep red - brown with a decent off - white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, vanilla, toffee, booze soak oak, berries, red fruits, strawberry, jammy, booze, fruit cake, spice and rye bread. The taste is firstly dry, bitter - sweet, hint of acidity/sourness, tangy red berries, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, warming booze, dry oak, tannin, rye bread, resin, sappy and chewy malt with a toothy finish. Medium+ body and fluffy carbonation. Chewy and complex. Interesting and satisfying.

Can at home, 3rd May 2025. Pours thick and black, chocolate dark and milk on the nose. Taste is rich, decadent, chocolate, cocoa, light barrel, I would have preferred more; making this quite sweet, notes of port and wood. Very nice stout, but not up to the level of the recent others I’ve had from these guys
