Description
We’re a friendly bunch of Yorkshire folk with a passion for all things ale. Since 2015, we’ve been driven by a passion for innovating ales, while sticking to the traditional methods and high quality that you know and love.

The North Riding Brewery is based in the village of Snainton, just outside the seaside town of Scarborough, Yorkshire. Every day we’re blessed with chocolate box views of God’s own county and refreshing sea air. You could say there’s a little taste of Yorkshire in every brew.

Our production process is simple. We currently brew three times a week in our microbrewery, focusing on hop-forward modern ales with the finest ingredients.

Our mission is to delight your taste buds with a little love from Yorkshire. We’ll drink to that.

First brewed during March 2015 using a 10BBL plant. Initially it was based at the Betton Business Park, East Ayton, Scarborough. It is a sister brewery to North Riding Brewpub. In Summer 2019 the brewery relocated to their current location.

The majority of the output now comes from East Ayton but the brewpub also continues to operate, primarily for small batch beers sold at the pub, test brews and the occasional festival special.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear gold. Decent, lasting, white head. Nose has sweet biscuit. Some light grapefruit. Notes of strawberry and a hint of lemon. Bright and sweet. Taste is much the same. Ripe fruit and soft bitterness. Some hop oil on the palate. Fine carbonation. Light bitter finish. Usual high standard of juicy hoppage.

At the Brewpub. Keg. Light haze on this gold - amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a good minerally crispness. Thin malts, mildly sweet. Great tangerine - orange hops, some peel bitterness creeping in. Touches of lemon and tropical fruits. Airy finish leaves a bitter linger. Crisp and fruity, lovely stuff.

Black, thin ruby edges, dense beige head
Aroma of sugar candy, nothing else (!)
Taste of bitter rum, raisin, thin candy sugars, oh this is a huge clash with my palate...uurrrgghhh
Palate - Thin body...very sweet...oh this is awful
Overall - Couldn’t drink this at all, yuck...I’ve had this with rum beers before. Maybe it’s a Marmite beer...probably my palate(!)

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Pours totally clear yellow-gold with a tight, creamy white head. Nice pithy citrus rind in the nose, lemon, grapefruit, crispy hay. Light sweet flavour with mild grassy bitterness, more crispy hay, rindy citrus, crackery pale malts. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Decent condition. Finishes with light husky grains, more crackers, rinds and grass. Nice one.

GBBF Day 4. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light malts, clean and sweetish. Lovely light spicy orange with a touch of mango into generic tropical fruits. Light finish. Fresh and super drinkable.
