[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A dark chestnut brown pour with a tight cream coloured head; aroma of roasted coffee beans; rather sweet in the mouth with a fresh coffee taste and an oaty body; then a thin dry finish

Cask at Picture House, Stafford – at 4.3%. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some hints of plums. In the mouth it is bittersweet with a creamy texture, and malts immediately apparent. Flavour has dark fruits with traces of raspberries, bread rolls and nuts. Finish is fruity and slightly dry. It’s reasonable – or even a bit better than that !

Cask @ Regal Moon, Rochdale. Dark brown with an off-white head. Fuller-bodied porter with healthy malts, which are pretty tasty.

Cask @ Moon Under Water, Manchester. Clear slightly deeper golden with a head. Strength infused but primarily hoppy brew, but certainly a slower sipper.

(Cask) Clear golden with good white head. Subtle caramel and citrus aroma. Medium body with plenty of smooth carbonation. Great taste with a little fruity tartness at the start, rapidly replaced with caramel malt and then joined by a nice bitterness for the finish. Very nice.

16/6/2023. Cask at the Picture Palace (JDW), Braintree. Pre-festival pint with breakfast. Poured deep maroon brown with a creamy off-white head. Good looking beer. Aroma of berries, dried fruits, malt, plum jam, caramel, slight chalky edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Slightly watery, soft carbonation. Quite enjoyed it.

Pours a clear coppery amber colour with a small frothy beige head that settled. The aroma is fruity and malty with some caramel and earthy hop notes. A moderately sweet taste, sweet malts, caramel, ripe fruit flavours with some roasted notes and a moderate bitterness.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours pale gold with a small white head. The aroma is mainly sweet malts. Sweetness to the fore in the mouth as well, though there is also some underlying bitterness. Grains are the mainstay of the flavour at first, but some citrus and oranges come through later. Overall quite a juicy texture. Finish is slightly sweet. Nothing to write home about.
