Cask-conditioned at the Posset Cup (JDW), Portishead 3 January 2023. Golden in colour with a slight, white, head that left plenty of lacing down the glass. A touch of citrus hops, crisp rich tea malts, some citrus fruit sweetness, green herbs and a dryish finish. Good.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A straw coloured pour with a scattering of white head; aroma of bitter herbs; fresh herbal taste, perhaps coriander and mint; then a dry biscuity malt finish with a lasting bitterness. Rather good.

Cask @ Regal Moon, Rochdale. Mahogany coloured with an off-white head. Has very light and slightly sticky-sweet roasted notes, all of which are pleasant enough.

Cask at Bull & Stirrup, Chester – as 4%. Pours chrome yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Not mch of an aroma – just some generic citrus. In the mouth it is very briefly sweet, before citrus bitterness overwhelms it. Lemon and grapefruit with mango and herbs lurking in the background. Finish is quite sticky. This is OK – a bit too citrussy for me really.

Cask at Swan, Marbury (Cheshire). Pours a hazy dark copper with a thick foamy off-shite head. Malts dominate the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and fruity with floral hops and summer fruits. Some lemongrass and spices too, plus a biscuit base. This is decent.

Cask @ Regal Moon, Rochdale. Clear deep golden with a creamy head. It's an easy session brew light bitterness to what is a hoppy brew.

Cask at Dolphin & Anchor (JDW), Chichester. Pours clear pale amber, with a tight white cap. Aroma: caramel, hedgerow fruits. Taste: light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter, semi-dry, caramel, earthy, some berry notes. Medium body with fine carbonation. Not bad at all.
