Established in 1983, Old Mill Brewery is a small independent family owned brewery, housed in an 18th century former corn mill and maltings at Snaith in East Yorkshire. It is equipped with a highly specified, modern brewing plant, Old Mill Brewery has retraced the footsteps of the traditional regional brewer.

Dedicated to producing a range of quality ‘real ales’, not only for the local market, but for a national audience too, the company with 150 years combined experience in brewing is recognized as one of the leading lights of the recent revival of the brewing art.

Many thanks to Grumbo for this bottle! Nice smooth dry beginning. Full-bodied, hints of hazelnuts, refreshing with a fantastic mild dry malty roasted back. Hazelnuts, very dry, malt. Nice carbonation, smooth and sessionable!

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo, cheers!]. Slightly cloudy, dark amber to chestnut colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Slightly toasty malty aroma, hints of toffee, fruity hoppy overtones with hints of red berries. Taste is mellow malty, hints of toffee, cream, caramel, slightly bitter and minimally fruity, hoppy overtones with a touch of red berries.

Very dark brown with a red hue. Aroma and flavour have a lot of bittersweet roasted coffee. Smooth and creamy texture. Packed with flavour.

7th July 2018, The Boars Head, Bishops Castle; cask half-pint, gravity pour. Golden bodied, white crown on top. Light citrus leanings in both the nose and taste, a subtle flavoured beer and pretty forgettable.

Cask @ White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Golden-blonde with a creamy head. It's light tasting, hoppy, with a mild dryness in its aftertastes.

8/6/2018. Cask at the 27th Doncaster CAMRA Beer Festival. Pours golden / pale amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of hop, citrus, peach, grass, tropical fruit, light malt and a hint of biscuit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation.

8/6/2018. Cask at the 27th Doncaster CAMRA Beer Festival. Pours yellow gold with a very small white head. Aroma of zesty citrus, grass, biscuit, caramel and flowers. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, slight oily texture, very soft carbonation.

Half pint On tap at the Bridge inn, Rotherham. Thick creamy white head. Hazy amber pour. Light bitterness. Easy drinking.

Cask @ Upper George Hotel, Halifax. Golden with a creamy head. It's a full-bodied malty-hoppy ale, but with more of the former.

Cask @ Upper George Hotel, Halifax. Dark copper-red with a creamy head. It's a malty ale, not much 'dark' influence apart from its colour.
