Description
Classic infusion brewed beer from @SheffieldTap, and decoction brewed beer from @TappedLeeds.
Established in 2012, making use of newly renovated space in the Sheffield Tap. The Tapped brewery is a 4BBL (Brewers Barrel) kit. The Hot Liquor Tank, Mash Tun, Underback and Copper are all insulated and copper clad. There are two 2000 litre closed conical fermenters behind the brewery, these allow us to brew the same beer on two consecutive days and ferment them in the same vessel. The fermenting room to the side of the brewery houses a further four 1000 litre fermenters for single brews.

Cask at Euston Tap. It pours dark ruby with a small, bubbly beige head. The nose is rich, warming, spicy, meaty, sausage & tomato Golden Wonder crisps, gravy and HP sauce. The taste is bitter, woody, earth, dark fruits, spice, some astringency, leather, floral and a touch of meatiness. Medium body and soft carbonation. Bizzare nose, which I sort of like, but there is a strong disconnect between smell and taste. A unique brew for sure...

Cask-conditioned at the Brewery, 1/12/2014. Amber with a lazy, off-white, head. Well balanced bitter with a touch of sweet fruitiness, crisp malts and decent, bitter, finish. Good.

On keg at Sheffield Tap - Cloudy yellow brew, thick white head. Nose is a bit of clove, a bit of banana, bit of bubblegum. The taste has a lovely dryness about it, a spiciness too, lots of yeasty esters in too. Quick a long dry finish, just a bit too fizzy.

12th Sep 2014: Euston Tap, cask half-pint. Clear amber with a lightly tanned head. Mildly malty lead in both the aroma and taste, but not a great amount of anything really aroma wise. The light tasting beer was in good condition and calmed me down after some heavier brews: I needed a 3.5% ABV bevvy at the time. So a fine slightly sweet malty beer that I enjoyed without it exciting any of my senses.

Cask ale, brewed in Sheffield, half pint at York Tap. Clear pale golden coloured body. Almost naked surface, nice lacework to the glass. Grassy hops with citrus on the nose. Mainly flavoured with lemony hops followed by moderate fruit bitterness to the ending. Medium to thin bodied. Satisfying (York 10.07.2014).
