(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 2 June 2025) Amber colour with creamy, tan head. Malty nose with caramel, toast and black-currant. Malty taste with notes of caramel, toast, black-currant and a balanced earthy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Well made and tasty bitter. Nice one.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and melon in the aroma. In the mouth there is a brief burst of sweetness before it is swamped by bitterness of floral hops, along with marmalade and hints of alcoholic strength. Tropical fruits come through later as do traces of melon and mango. Finish is quite dry and bitter. This is decent.

Cask at Old Bell, Derby. Pours pale straw with a small foamy almost white head and excellent lacing. The aroma is mainly citrus but melon and mango are there as well. In the mouth it is quite sweet but with some underlying sharpness. Citrus dominates here as well alongside floral hops, grapefruit and hints of spice. A little bitterness in the finish. This is reasonable – but too much citrus for my liking.

Cask at the Pup and Duckling, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, fresh, sherbet citrus, dry hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
