Can. Very dark reddish brown with a beige head. Mocha aroma with brioche, vanilla, prunes. Not very sweet with roast, more coffee than chocolate, vanilla. Quite bitter with some pepper and hints of coconut joining the vanilla at the end. Very nice.

Can. Just misty amber with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, kumquat, pine, light crusty bread. Some peach. Medium bodied. Not much sweetness - a little touch of caramel, bread and peach before lots of citrus and some pine take over towards the firmly bitter end. Forthright with plenty of hops. No mention of Mornington Peninsula Brewery (Tribe is in administration now I believe) on the label anymore but clearly a descendant of their old IPA.

Can. Almost clear gold with a modest white head. Aroma of lime, mandarin, pine, crackers. Lots of of citrus sits on not much before a firmly bitter finish. An unusual white pepper note at the end.

Can. Clear golden amber with a frothy white head that fades fairly fast. Aroma of spiced dough, bananas. Perhaps some apricots. So it tastes, with a feisty spicy finish that's also fairly bitter. Too much banana for me, but fair enough.

Can. Pale amber with a modest but lasting white head. Aroma of grapefruit, crackers, honeydew melon, some passionfruit. Light sherbety citrus and passionfruit over sweet crackery malt. Clean with snappy bitterness. Good.

[11/22] Tar Barrel version. Can. Really black with a 2cm brown head. Aroma of dark roast, singed dark sugars, mocha, hints of oranges. But rather more citrusy upon a taste and it sets off the roasty and chocolate flavours well. Quite sweet and a little syrupy but after a while the bitterness creeps up and the end is bitter and a little spicy with notes of oranges. Better than the last few Mornington Peninsula RISs I recall: more expressive aroma; the almost suffocating depth of the malty flavours; and the way the citrusy hops and firm bitterness lighten the load at the end. Not sure I needed such a big (500ml) can though. [4.1]

Can. Unclear amber with a dense inch of near white head. Big pine aroma with grilled grapefruit, breadcrust, mango skin. Sweet with some lighter citrus notes and citrus drop too - not a bad thing becaue to the aroma foreshadowed something heavy and this is big but ligher on its feet. Dryish and firmly bitter end.

Can. Cloudy yellowish orange with an inch of white head. I guess the fruit is passionfruit, then. Laundry/ barn/ damp wheat funk with some pineapple and shoe polish. Light bodied, very fizzy. Dryish with less obvious fruit than suggested by the aroma. Tart but not very sour with a brief very dry spritzy finish. Peach pits? Refreshing. Had this in the fridge a couple of weeks but really should have been released at the height of summer. Good though - I'm greatly enjoying these more local releases.

Can. Gold, pretty much clear. White head hangs around. Old lemon aroma with apple box, brine. Slippery, quite fizzy. Moderately sour with lemons, grain, salt, spices (there's not obviously a coriander addition). A good beer on another sticky night.
