Bottle. Pale straw gold with a white head that's soon less than a coat. Funky aroma of damp wheat, old lemons, apples. Lacto slippery despite highish carbonation. Sour but mellow with old citrus, apples and a kefir-like funk. Finish seems drier the more you drink. Pricey but classy.

Can. Opaque brownish gold with a white head that's soon a coat. Somewhat chalky aroma with orange, grapefruit and mango. Cleaner than expected with much more focused citrus than suggested by the aroma. A mix of orange and grapefruit leads into soft cereals and modest bitterness. Another one of these I don't love, but it's OK.

Bottle at The Osprey 10Kay. Thanks to Mr Tipz..it pours jet black with a decent tan head. The aroma is soft, sweet, oily, sugary, eccles cake, toasty, perfumed and some vimto. The taste is dry, slick, thick, oily, sugary, toffee, roasted malt, dark fruits, boozy heat, chewy malt and a touch of spice. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A bit hot, but decent enough.

Can. Hazy straw with an inch of white head. 3+ Wafty rather than vibrant aroma with oranges , lemon, mandarin, passionfruit, melon, crackers. Creamy texture, just faintly doughily unclean. Fruit flavours sharpen to bitter citrus with some herbal notes. Nice.

Bottle split at the Osprey 10K tasting, CBC Islington, thanks to Tipple Mr 21/03/18. Pitch black with a well presented tan head. Nose is chocolate, roast malts, charr, toffee fudge. Taste comprises chocolate maltesers, light black peppery spice, roast malts, leather, liquorice, fruit cake. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, light warming alcohol in the close. Decent enough well rounded impy stout that ticks the style boxes but no more than that.
