Bottle shared in London - cheers bro! Pours oily black-brown with a frothy tan head. Torched wood in the nose, ash, brown sugar. Medium sweet flavour with lots of hearty roast, burnt malts, bitter baking cocoa, scorched earth. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming and oily in the finish, more bittersweet chocolate. Good toothy stuff.

Can. Hazy yellowish gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and a little fluffy, decent fine minerally carbonation. Airy malts, light sweetness. Floral sweetness. Tangy floral lemon, touch of sharp lemon . Tangy finish brings a little sherbet. Goes down easy.

Bottle. Amber with a dense near white head that slowly fades. 3+ There's beer under the oak and seemingly sweet Shiraz aromas but you have to delve: grapey dough, marzipan, spices that meld with the peppery oak. Not all that sweet but very rich with the vinous and oak character cutting the sweetness. It's pretty full bodied and there are no lurking Chinese influences [sorry]. Some macerated cherries, but it mostly tastes as it smells. There's not a lot of bitterness and the alcohol - whilst not hot - dulls the palate a little.

On keg at Draft House, Hammersmith. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a foamy top. Aroma: biscuit malts, herbal, citrus, lemon., spices. Taste: dry, mildly bitter, citrus lemon, light spices. Light bodied with foamy carb. Light dry finish. Slightly strange to use sorachi hops in a delicate kolsch. Was interesting but not sure it works
