Wow, first rate of this in nearly three years. Bottle, courtesy of my mate Totnes. Opened with a big hiss. Pours clear, pale amber. Lively stuff. Huge, foamy, milk white head. Nose has nutty grain. Leafy hop. Bit of a wood glue thing. Taste is nutty sweet. Plenty of green leaf bitterness. Light body. Slightly drying. Low carbonation. Light bitter finish. Ok.

9th Oct 2018. hand-pulled pint in The Crosse Keys (a London Wetherspoon). Dark brown body, ruby hue; on top a beige blanket of foam. malts rule the roost here, with chocolate, dark fruits and caramel notes in both the aroma and taste. Semi-sweet, yet with a bitter harshness in the finish. Not in great condition (a bit tired and towards the end of the barrel).

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Tangy malts, very mild tangy caramel. Tangy dried fruits and a little floral spice. Mild esters. Dry finish. Okay, standard stuff.
