Bottle, many thanbks to Craig for this one cheers mate!, had this 02-02-08 Poured amber some haze, very little head. Aroma a bit malty and also some smokiness. Tasted really quite smoky with good bitterness and then a flurry of sweet malts drop in at the end. The smokiness is always there on the first sip and I was quite pleased to see that I’d noted that before even reading the description on the back of the bottle. This isn’t bad but a 568ml bottle is a bit too much as a half would have sufficed for me tonight. Just looking back at some of the rates, I reckon I’ve got a good bottle of this :-)

Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Golden coloured beer, large head. Pleasant hoppy and yeasty aroma, slightly oaky, nearly a vinous character. The flavour has the same characteristics as the aroma, but is less vinous.

Bottle at RBESG 2007. Golden, bubbly off white head. It’s got some interesting fruit, fruit salad, bit of sherberty hop, jellied hoppiness. Kumquats, I think.
