the aroma is strong and smells like cut grass. However, the grass must get used by horses a lot. Regular pale, golden color. you know, I’m drinking it right now and it just kind of sucks. thats all.

12oz bottle-pours a creamy tan head. Color is dark brown with red tint. Aroma is dark malt, licorice. Taste is coffee, dark malt, licorice. Good carbonation. Not my taste, nice though.

12oz bottle-pours a creamy offwhite head that laces with gold/orange color. Aroma is citrus hops. Taste is citrus hops, malty. Finishes with a flat bite that carries into the aftertaste. Good carbonation.

12oz bottle-pours a creamy light tan head with amber color. Aroma is malty, secondary hops. Taste is malty, creamy, caramel-but not sweet. Good hops, transitions to a flat taste at finish.

Poured into a La Fin Du Monde glass from a 22oz bomber. Poured dark brown, translucent but cannot see through the beer. Very strong smell of pines, I like it. Medium body. Taste is herby, piney, I like it. Goes down easy leaves that forest feeling on the palate.

12 oz bottle, my third bottle before I could get a rating down on this one, bottled on 2/14/06, lot 1847, drunk on 4/23/06
Prominent lacing with a one-finger high off-white head that is fairly well retained. Clear copper-amber-honey body with medium-sized bubbles rising lazily.
Nose dry biscuity malt mixed with dry, old leaves and soily, brown malts. Nutty yeast, a light touch of buttercream and dry sourdough and seltzer water notes. Very weak strength, though no glaring flaws (such as dms, diacetyl,etc...).
Minerals, dry fruits (cherries, apples, strawberries) and mildly bitter hops keep things very dry. Fleeting caramel and toasty grains come through in the middle as soily notes and astringent, very unflavorful hops come through on the end. Medium-light body, watery, not terribly so, but just dull and only employing the hops for bitterness. Medium-sized bubbles and a fairly plain texture, too hard for a true esb. Light note of alcohol on the end, perhaps from the high filtration.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark copper color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is sweet grapefruit and light pine. The flavor is tangy and has fairly strong grapefruit and pine elements. There is a dry malty finish. A solid if fairly basic pale ale.

This brewer has overall failed to impress me and this beer was no exception. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a large tan head. The aroma is tangy and musty with a vaguely skunky element. The flavor is sour and tangy but otherwise fairly nondescript.
