Description
In 1984, we were the first craft brewers in Ontario. With a dedication to precision, detail and pure ingredients, we were – and still are – making the kind of beer we’d choose to drink ourselves. As Ontario’s first craft brewer, we look back to the past with pride and are excited for the future.

Bottle: Poured a very light yellow color ale?, lager? Without any head and very low carbonation. Aroma is totally non-existent, reminiscent of water at best. Taste can only be described as lightly flavoured water. No hops, very little malt and no taste. If you haven’t figured out yet, I didn’t appreciate this beer at all.

Not much different than it was in the 60"s except this has a metallic presence to it

Dark golden colour. Slightly hoppy, aroma with only a little malt. Slightly bitter with a light bready maltiness.

This bitter ale pours a golden yellow colour with a small white head. Scents are generic white bread beer. First taste was pretty good. Taste wasn’t too far off the generic but with good carbonation and a round malty taste. Maybe a little honey taste?! The palate was nice with just a little bitterness.

Light golden ale with a sweet corny smell and malts. Foamy white head dissapearing. Rather corny malty beer, with the alcohol noticeable and actually, hops in the finish. Medium bodied. Not great but cheap.

Swillfest ’04: I can’t believe we debuted a new beer at Swillfest! Colour of pale yellow. Grainy aroma (slight DMS). Really watery palate, save for less than subtle alcohol notes. One ugly beer.

Golden-brown. Aroma of honey, caramel. Very sweet palate - almost like malta. But it should be so lucky. I mean, sure it could wash down pupusas in Kensington Market, but the vague honey and nut combo might not be awful but it’s still just unrealized potential. They didn’t miss by much.

Swillfest ’04: Malty, grassy aroma. Relatively sweet body, with a hint of sourness in the finish. Could be worse.

2003. Red copper ale with a creamy moka head, big bubbles. Vinous , molassy aroma with lots of malts. Sweet malt taste with some smokey notes, but lots of diacetyl too. Medium bodied with alcohol warmth which sticks out a bit too much in this beer.

Slight amber beer with collapsing white head. Nose of malts, corn, and some hops, but not floral. Crisp malts come out, with a nicer touch of hops, but as a little bit of boiled corn. Bitterness comes out nicely in the post-taste. Medium body.
