Description
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

This Hefe poured a light yellow color, very cloudy. Scents include pineapple (citrus), dough and bread. First sip was a little thin feeling but not in a bad way. Flavors of citrus and grass most predominant. Finish is citrus juicy!

Decent, but among all their great saisons, this one doesn’t quite match up to the other Bellwoods. Pours cloudy pale blond with some lacing and a little head. Some soft yeast, a tiny bit of bubblegum and some hay. Nice overall feel. Finishes slightly bitter. Average body.

Same great piney yeast taste as the other monogamies. The hops variety isn’t the most interesting, but makes for a good session ale. Pours cloudy blond with good lacing and head. Some citrus and pine. Carbonation is somewhere between soft and fizzy. Tap at Bar hop.

Bottle - Pine and grapefruit and some background malts. Cloudy copper with a foamy head. Grains, some slight hops and mild bitterness. Reminds me of a better standard British bitter. Very light and refreshing. If the ABV were lower it would be perfect.
