Bottle 0,33l. Mahogany colour. A off-white creamy head that slowly dwindled. A cautious spicy aroma. Lots of taste: Caramel. Spices. Roastedness. A looong aftertaste with a sourish bitterness. Well balanced and the alcohol is quite well hidden.

18/9/09. Pours a chunky deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Consistent off-white micro head. Dried fruit notes. Upfront fizzy pepper with a long-lasting dry caramel finish.

Bottle 0,33l. Clear colden colour - deep brown and unclear when stirred. Heavy sedimented. A white creamy head. The "champagne" feeling af a strong belgian beer. A rich complex aroma. Sweet sourish flavour leaving you with a lasting bitter aftertaste where you notice the strength. A bit too carbonated.

Bottle. Really nice aroma, fruity berries and plums to start with more gentle chocolate, malt and dried fruits with a little bit of spicy yeastiness to round the whole thing off and bring it together. The alcohol is really well hidden. Fairly sweet but in the silky smooth way the luscious aromas would lead you to expect.

Consumed at about 65F. Dark brown murky color with sediment floating around. Bubbly light tan head that lasted to the end. Aroma is complex and on the light side. I think I smell sweet malts, cherries, grapes, cinnamon, other spices and alcohol. The flavor is really silky smooth with melded flavors making it difficult to distinguish. There are spice flavors, beat sugar, sweet malts and a hint of alcohol. Very nice beer.

Murky brown color with thin vanishing off white head. Aroma is sugary, toffee, molasses and a hint of spice. Thick chewy mouth feel. It has explosive carbonation. Flavor is very smooth and sweet sugar (maybe beets), molasses and a bit of toffee. Along the edge of my tongue are spicy flavor notes. Good beer. Too sweet for my taste. If given a choice between the 8 and the 6 the 6 wins easily.

Bottled(330ml). -very complex brew but for me Rochefort 8 is better. Chocolate licorice nose, malty toffee and chocolate aroma with smoked notes. Syrupy and alcohol finish with little sediment on the bottom.

330ml bottle. Deep mahogany body topped with an off-white, creamy head - most of it diminishing, but you can always stir it up in the galss. Aroma of dark fruit and mushrooms. Complex flavours of dark chocolate, roasted grain, black coffee and chesnuts. Long lasting aniseed in the finish. Full bodied. The alcohol is very well integrated in the brew. A very good beer, but a bit too sweet for my taste.
