330ml bottle. Frothy off-white and long lived head over a cloudy, copper brown body. Aroma of malt, dark fruit and yeast. Assorted flavours of coffee, figs, cheese and sweet malts. There is also some yeasty notes towards the end. Smooth and crispated mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied. Roasty finish with warming alcohol.

330 ml Bottle from a trade with HogTownHarry( Consume by 11/17/09). Thanks Harry;Nose of caramel malt, apples, and raisins hazy brown with a small but lasting beige head; flavor shows the caramel, fruit, and a tiny hop finish. Not near the ale of the TR10 and not even close to the TR8, but decent.

(Bottled) Dark reddish brown colour with a huge, foamy off-white head, leaving lots of thick lacing. Nose is malty, sweet and spicy (dried bay leaf?), a bit floral, with dried fruit (prunes), herbs and vanilla (or rather vanillin sugar). Taste is complex: spicy, malty, with an initial fiery sweetness and notes of dried fruit (raisins, prunes, figs, dates), citrus (Seville orange or tangerine), caramel and some chocolate. Nice spicy hoppiness (a bit overshadowed by the fruit and malt initially) in the long warming (slightly drier) finish. Medium to full body with an initial warming alcohol bite. Complex and very nice stuff.

Great aromas over a dark brown body that sports a massive tan frothy head. Scents are sweet and fruity: grapes, sugars, a touch of lemon and some spice... maybe fennel or coriander? Flavor is much of the same with a touch of yeast added, but it just doesn’t come together nearly as well as the RT 8. Seems like there are a couple of loose ends or something. Really good, but nothing like its big brothers.

Started to pour out copper then the sludge made it to the glass. Now it’s a cloudy amber color with no head. Aroma is the classic Belgium yeasty fruitiness and some solid malts. I’m probably drinking it a little above 60F. Mmmm. Really nice flavor. The cherries are competing with the complex malty back bone for flavor supremacy. The malts seem to consist of the dryer grainy variety (maybe Vienna) and the more roasted caramel. Creates an excellent balance. I can’t detect any hops. Smooth fruity and malty after taste. First class brew. Not a flavor out of place. I look forward to the 8 and the 10.

Massive tan head above a body that is brown with amber tinting. Aroma is very nice... sweet cloves, heavy fruit (cherry and prune come to mind) and caramel. Flavor is very complex and blends together superbly. Caramel backbone with definite fruity undercurrents and a bit of a tartness that comes through near the tail end. Top notch.

Bottle. Caramel, brown sugar and raisin aroma. Cloudy cola brown color with little head. Slight sour raisin bread flavor - sourness comes on stronger throughout with a moderate bitter finish.
