Can.

A- Black color, opaque liquid, minimal head.

A- Oak, cocoa, soy.

F- Oak, faint tang, roasty, char, bitter cocoa, whisky, soy.

T- Full body, thick texture, average carbonation, slightly tangy finish.

O- Not as good as the Penelope Toasted barrel version for Pour and so far one of my least favorite single barrel variants but still tasty. Lots of oak but the base stout definitely shows through.

Can.

A- Black color, black liquid, minimal brown head.

A- Vanilla, chocolate, mild booze.

F- Vanilla, fudge, faint oak, light bourbon, mild smoke.

T- Full body, slightly thick texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.

O- Very nice. Not too sweet. The vanilla is definitely the star and plenty of chocolate. The barrel adds to it but not as much as you'd expect. Easy to drink. Too easy. Nothing quite like a good White Elm stout.

Bottle.

A- Black color, black liquid, no head.

A- Booze, chocolate.

F- Bourbon, oak, chocolate, boozy.

P- Full body, sharp texture, average carbonation, slightly harsh finish.

O- This is all barrel. I love all these single barrel variants but this one was the booziest by far to date. Needed some smoothing out, maybe some adjunct to tone down the barrel. Just too much.

Independent Ale House: woody color with white head. Aroma is amaretto, loads of it. Dark fruit. Taste is sweet, Italian liqueur and loads of cherries. Nice.

A- Toasted, oak, whisky, fudge.

F- Toasted oak, sesame, subtle soy, mild whisky, fudge, subtle booze heat.

T- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish.

O- Very nice. The barrel gives it a toasted sesame seed flavor which I didn't expect but man it was good. Regret not also getting a bottle to go. Nice stuff. Very easy to drink for 13%
