Pour is a golden with a fluffly white head. Aroma is slight malts and hops. Flavor is citrus with a touch of hops. Nothing really special as the flavor is pretty weak.

A very good alt. Dark color. Malt aroma and more of the same in the flavor. Light smoke as well. Good palate; thick and heavy. With this and Schmaltz, Shells shows they do a very good alt.

This is a new beer for me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma is strong chocolate and what I can only describe as artificial blueberry. The flavor is rich and malty with sour chocolate, ripe fruit and a flowery hop finish. Interesting. I will probably come back to this beer again sometime.

This is a new beer for me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a honey color with a small yellowish head that faded quickly. The aroma was sweet malts and a hint of molasses. The flavor was sweet and thick malty with some molasses and a sour tangy finish.

Lightly sweet malt, and the honey does very little at all. Very light aroma and flavor, which is typical of a kolsch. Some very light citrus. Dark yellow, and an impressive white head.

Maybe the best beer Schell makes. Aroma of malt. Thick and black, also with a thick head that I don’t expect from Schell’s beers. Flavor of malt and some smoke.

Full flavored and full bodied blonde bock. Flavor of malt. Very little in the way of hops. Impressive and one of Schell’s best products.

Bottled. I belive this was my first beer in this style, back when I visited the Schell Brewery a few year ago. It seemed very likable then, though there are few faults when I try it now. There is a good Vienna malt smell. It pours a nice red with little to no head. Taste is rich and malty, but has the phenolic tang of peated malts. So a bit off, but that’s the risk in this style. Definitely worth looking up if you get a chance.

Bottled. A standard commercial bock: not incredible, but a good buy for the money. Pours a nice caramel color ’neath a parfait-like head. Taste is the right kind of caramel maltiness, an inauspicious hop nose, but just a touch of phenol. Still; drinks well, no really off flavors; I’d easily drink another.

Brown, large head that leaves a lace. Malt aroma, and the standard Schell flavor that reminds of their bock beers. Not great, but no flaws.
